  Florida Memory provides online access to primary records that illustrate significant moments in Florida's history. Explore the state's rich history through over 170,000 photographs, full-length films on a variety of Florida subjects, and over 1500 sound recordingsof music, oral histories, and 50 years of th florida Folk Festival. This site also provides access to archival collections of land grants, family papers, veterans' records, and church records.
  Florida State Archives
  The Archives maintains a extensive collection of genealogical reference materials. The Genealogical Collection consists of a 10,000-volume library of sourcebooks, including family, state, county and local histories. The collection also contains immigration lists; church, cemetery and military records; genealogy journals and reference books; and a wide variety of other published sources.
  Historical Society of Palm Beach County
  The Historical Society of Palm Beach County's mission is to collect, preserve and share the history of Palm Beach County. The Society maintains a large library on the history of Palm Beach County, Florida and the Caribbean. The Society's archives, which include nearly two million photographic images, maps, newspapers, journals, periodicals, architectural drawings, and research files, maintain an active research facility.

  Palm Beach Co. Clerk's Office
  The Official Record consists of a searchable computerized index and links to digital images of documents dating back to 1968 (marriage license listings [listings only - no images] date back to 1909). Official Records include court judgments, deeds, liens, marriage licenses, mortgages, plats and tax deeds. As of June 5, 2002, the law requires that documents of certain types, not be placed on a publicly available Internet Web site.

  The largest collection of online genealogical information anywhere. There is a sizable amount that is available for free but, much of it is available by subscription only. Access to the library edition is available from our library.
  BYU Family History Archives
  This Brigham Young University site is rapidly growing. Items from the Family History Library, Allen County Public Library, Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research, and idwest Genealogy Center.
  Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System
  A database of 6.3 million names of soldiers from both sides. Names are linked to regimental histories and short histories of battles.
  Cyndi's List
  A huge categorized and cross-referenced directory of sites useful for genealogical research.
  Death Indexes
  This link provides links to various types of death indexes from every state in the United States. Some link to cemeteries, newspapers, while some are free,others are subscription sites.
  Family Search
  The research website of the LDS Church (Mormons). This site includes access to online classes, resource listings for African-American, Jewish, and Hispanic research. Guides for all fifty states and many foreign countries are also available on this site. Free maps and forms may be downloaded as well.

  Genealogy Karma
  This is the replacement for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. Back in 1999, a fantastic resource was established to bring together members of the genealogy community all around the world. The brainchild of Bridgett and Doc Schneider, Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness (RAOGK) was created to help genealogists collaborate with the genealogy community to document their research. The ROAGK website went offline in 2011 because of a computer disaster. Sadly, Bridgett Schneider passed away later that year, and the website was never able to come back online.
  Internet Archive
  This site finds old and abandoned websites with its "Wayback Machine" located top dead center. The site also has a large number (thousands) of digitized genealogy books that are in the public domain, downloadable for free in a variety of formats. The site is not genealogy specific, so genealogy is mixed in with many other topics.

  A good, basic starting point for Irish research.

  Passenger Lists
  This site links to several lists of passenger lists, primarily from England, Germany and Ireland. It also includes other countries. The site is a bit heavy with solicitations for donations but the lists are worthwhile.
  PERSI
  The Periodical Source Index is the largest subject index covering genealogical and history periodicals. This link will take you to the PBC Library genealogy web page through which PERSI is accessable. Scroll down to Heritage Quest and enter your PBC library card number and press ENTER. Selct PERSI from this list of options.

  This index is a masive set of links to more than 145,00 online digital books in a variety of formats. Site includes more than 2,000 reference books and 15,000 volumes on North American history. There is also an alphabetical list of categories to assist in browsing.

There are more than sixty partners in HathiTrust, and membership is open to institutions worldwide. Collection is 10,000,000+ volumes consisting of over 5,000,000 titles.

  Internet Archives gas made available millions of digitized offerings (text, video, sound, etc.) Genealogy will yield over 50,000 returns. Narrow the research with a location or surname. Thousands of county and local histories.

  Project Gutenberg is the oldest website for free digital books with 28,000+ books. While there are relatively few books directly involving genealogy, there are numerous history and regional books.
