Archbishop of Miami consecrated the cemetery in 1974. The cemetery became part of the newly formed Diocese of Palm Beach in 1984. There are over 6,000 burials in this still very active cemetery which is the only Catholic cemetery in the parishes and missions of the diocese. The diocese includes Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties.
